Intended Use: FK 45 FOODGRADE is a two-component, epoxy resin-based coating for interior surfaces in direct contact with food. FK 45 FOODGRADE is certified according to Regulation (EU) 1935/2004 and Regulation (EU) 10/2011 for direct food contact. This two-component coating seals the surface and is characterized by excellent adhesion to the substrate and high resistance to chemicals and cleaning agents. The two-component epoxy resin coating is particularly recommended for ceilings, walls, machinery, tanks, containers, silos, and other surfaces in the food production industry and agriculture. The GREEN-BIO.FILM.STOP technology protects the surface of FK 45 FOODGRADE against viral and bacterial attack.

Areas of application: FK 45 FOODGRADE is particularly recommended as a highly durable, antibacterial ceiling and wall coating in production and cold storage rooms in the food industry. It is also ideally suited as a renovation coating for metal panels/sandwich panels that have suffered damage due to daily cleaning as well as chemical and mechanical stresses.

Other recommended applications include internal coatings of tanks and silos used to store food and animal feed, as well as the coating of machinery and boilers used in food production.

Please note: Minimum dry film thickness for coating tanks and silos = 400 µm. When using strongly acidic/alkaline cleaning agents or contents, we recommend consulting our application engineering department. The aim is to determine whether FK 45 FOODGRADE possesses the optimal properties for the intended application. FK 100 FOODGRADE could then be a possible alternative. With dual certification according to Regulation (EU) 10/2011 and FDA 21 CFR 175.300, FK 100 FOODGRADE offers maximum chemical resistance, particularly in the area of ​​tank and silo coatings (see FK 100 FOODGRADE product information).
